No experience is needed at all. You just need to be at least 18 years old (21 for interstate driving) with a valid driver's license. Our instructors teach you everything from scratch—from pre-trip inspection to backing maneuvers to highway driving.

A Class A CDL allows you to drive combination vehicles like tractor-trailers (18-wheelers) weighing over 26,001 lbs. A Class B CDL covers single vehicles over 26,001 lbs like straight trucks, buses, and dump trucks. Class A opens more job opportunities and typically pays more. We offer training for both.

Ideally yes, but don't worry if you don't have one yet. We can help you prepare for and obtain your CDL permit. The permit is required before you can begin behind-the-wheel training on public roads.

CDL training at Nixon Trucking School starts at $2,000 for our Basic package (15 hours behind-the-wheel), $2,500 for our most popular Full Training package (30 hours), and $3,900 for our Premier package (40 hours with unlimited DMV tests). All packages include DMV test prep and job placement help.

No hidden fees. Your tuition covers all behind-the-wheel training hours, DMV test prep, pre-trip inspection training, and your included DMV test attempts (varies by package). The only separate cost is the DMV permit fee which is paid directly to the DMV.

Training includes comprehensive behind-the-wheel instruction: pre-trip vehicle inspection, basic vehicle control (straight backing, offset backing, alley docking), city driving, highway driving, and DMV test preparation. You'll train on real commercial vehicles at our Pomona facility.

We take you to the DMV in Fontana, CA for your CDL skills test at no extra cost. As a certified testing facility, we make sure you're fully prepared before your test date. We handle the appointment scheduling for you.

We have a 98% first-time pass rate. Our instructors don't schedule your DMV test until they're confident you're ready. If you need extra training time, we'll work with you to make sure you pass.

Yes, we offer training on both automatic and manual (stick shift) transmission trucks. Note that if you test on an automatic, you'll receive an automatic restriction on your CDL. Testing on manual gives you an unrestricted CDL, which opens up more job opportunities.
